The Glen Ellyn Backyard BBQ celebrated 14 years on Saturday, September 10 by raising more than $50,000 in support of Bridge Communities and its mission to house and mentor families experiencing homelessness in DuPage County.
The Glen Ellyn Backyard BBQ Competition was sponsored by Real Urban Barbecue. Forty-four BBQ competitors fired up their grills and smokers for the chance to win one of four categories:
- Best Ribs
- Best Chicken
- Best Dish
- Best Sauce

Live music, fresh BBQ and other grilling delights, cold beer and seltzers from Two Brothers Brewery, desserts from Nothin' Bundt Cakes, and non-alcoholic drinks were served throughout the festival.
We want to thank all the sponsors that stepped up in support of the BBQ and Bridge Communities. More than $20,000 was raised in cash and an additional $6,000 given in-kind.
All proceeds from the event benefit the families served by Bridge Communities. Thank you for supporting Bridge families when they need you the most!
